The Sustainable Fashion Academy (SFA), a founding member of NFA, has been advising, educating and training senior management and professionals from leading apparel brands and retailers since 2008. SFA works extensively with fashion, sport and outdoor brands, including large multinational organisations, established medium size companies, and innovative startups. Apparel companies contact SFA when they want to be inspired, educated and trained. SFA offers support for a broad range of people in companies, including general staff, decision-makers, implementers, and sustainability specialists.
In fall 2015 SFA launched an online Sustainability Fundamentals course. As far as we know, this the world’s first online course teaching the foundational knowledge apparel professionals need to have if they are to contribute to improving a company’s sustainability performance. You can get a taste of the current topics and structure of the course from this course introduction video (below). The first course has 150 participants taking the course, from companies such as H&M, Filippa-K, Haglöfs, Gudrun Sjödén, Halti, Peak Performance, Fenix Outdoor and the L-Fashion Group. This format is more flexible, cost effective and pedagogic!
SFA is now planning our online course schedule for 2016, and they will offer this particular online course again starting in March 2016.
