New top names for Copenhagen Fashion Summit 2016
Copenhagen Fashion Summit reveals the addition of five new major names to the 2016-programme, including actress and model Amber Valletta and Nadja Swarovski.
On 12 May 2016 the fourth edition of Copenhagen Fashion Summit, the world’s largest event on sustainability in fashion, takes place. Already boasting an impressive line-up of top names from fashion, business and politics - ranging from EU’s commissioner for industry Elzbieta Bienkowska to legendary fashion entrepreneur Renzo Rosso - today the summit adds five more names to the programme.
Model and actress Amber Valletta has just confirmed her role as the summit’s second host and will be joining fashion editor and writer Derek Blasberg on stage. Valletta is dedicated to encouraging environmental sustainability and has for instance spoken at the Sustainable Brands Conference San Diego 2015 and started the premier online store Master & Muse for responsibly made fashion.
Also confirmed for this spring’s fashion summit is Nadja Swarovski, executive board member of the world’s leading and most sustainable crystal manufacturer Swarovski, who since 2012 has overseen Swarovski’s global corporate responsibility efforts, creating a strategy to ensure that responsible, ethical and environmental standards are embedded in the company’s business practices. Furthermore, speaking at the summit are Burak Cakmak, the dean of the school of fashion at Parsons School of Design and Shaway Yeh, group style editorial director of China’s most influential lifestyle publication Modern Weekly.
Finally, Imran Amed, the founder, CEO and editor-in-chief of Business of Fashion (BoF) is added to the line of speakers. Bringing a unique understanding of the creative and commercial sides of fashion, BoF has grown into the pre-eminent global industry resource for the fashion industry, with 1 million unique visitors per month, and more than 3 million followers on social media from over 200 countries around the world.
